BELL 5G Maps – SEPT 2020

Bell 5G Network Expands to More Cities in BC, Alberta and Ontario

Sept 24 2020  by Gary Ng

Telus announced yesterday it had expanded its 5G network to various cities in B.C., Alberta and Ontario, ahead of upcoming 5G devices set to debut, which could include Apple’s rumoured iPhone 12 lineup. Now, it appears Bell has also expanded its 5G network, as well.

A Bell spokesperson confirmed to iPhone in Canada its 5G network coverage has also reached the same cities as Telus as well, which includes the following:

  • Victoria, BC
  • Maple Ridge, BC
  • New Westminster, BC
  • Pitt Meadows, BC
  • Port Moody, BC
  • Windsor, ON
  • Tecumseh, ON
  • LaSalle, ON
  • Fort Saskatchewan, AB
  • Sherwood Park, AB
  • Strathcona County, AB
  • Spruce Grove, AB
  • St. Albert, AB

Both companies share cell towers so it’s safe to say upgrades and expansion may be coordinated, as we’re learning about today. Bell announced earlier this year it had picked Ericsson as one of its first 5G hardware vendors.

Access to Bell’s 5G network will be free of charge, after a previously planned $10/month charge in 2021 was reversed. Telus will not charge for 5G network access, but Rogers will charge $15/month in spring of 2021 for 5G access.
