A lower mainland town has been over the years very aware of the cellular towers in the area.
After the cancer cluster in West Maple Ridge parents are keeping track of any new antenna proposals in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows.
Telus would like to place one in north central Maple Ridge, another proposal for the same area that already has coverage, and was previously abandoned by the other land owner in 2019 that felt it would have effected his business, the local community was firm they did not want another antenna in this area.
According to the local newspaper, a meeting is set for September 24, 2025 from 5pm to 7pm at Golden Ears United Church, Maple Ridge BC.
Schools in the target area are ALOUETTE Elementary School and MAPLE RIDGE Secondary School.

I live in Maple Ridge behind Alouette School and l am very aware of the CANCER CLUSTER in our area. Cancer has affected a very close friend of ours who lives behind Alouette School as well.
We are already feeling very vulnerable and we are definitely against another Cell Tower being installed in our area.

I was apposed to the previous attempt of Telus to install another cell tower in this area on the Davison Farm and I am firmly apposed to this proposed installation. My cell service works very well as does my wifi and I see no need for another cell tower in this area. Ever. As there are already plenty of cell towers in the area I see no need for another and so if there is no need, then there is no requirement to install another tower.
