However, the FDA has also said there is no proof that cell phones are risk-free.<\/p>\n<p>The malignant tumor was discovered in March 1998 behind Newman&#8217;s right ear. Newman&#8217;s attorney, Joanne Suder, said her client, a neurologist, used wireless phones at least several times a day between 1992 and 1998.\u00a0 &#8220;Because of the nature of his work he had to be in touch with patients on a minute-to-minute basis,&#8221; Suder said.\u00a0 The suit seeks $100 million in compensatory damages and $700 million in punitive damages.<\/p>\n<p>Concerns that cellular phones may cause cancer or other health problems have grown over the past few years. In June, the FDA announced a partnership with the phone industry under which about $1 million in studies on the issue would be conducted.\u00a0 A trade group for the wireless industry introduced a new policy last month requiring cell phone makers to disclose information on radiation levels produced by their phones.<\/p>\n<p>More than 90 million American now have cell phones, most of whom began using them in the past five years.\u00a0 Norman Sandler, a spokesman for Schaumburg, Ill.-based Motorola, said company officials had not seen the suit and could not comment.<\/p>\n<p>However, similar lawsuits over the past few years all have been withdrawn by the plaintiffs or dismissed by the courts, Sandler said.\u00a0 &#8220;We have maintained for years that such assertions are groundless,&#8221; has given him cancer.<\/p>\n<p>After going to hospital with a bad headache, Ian Phillips was given the devastating news he had a lemon-sized brain tumour &#8211; and has just three years to live.<\/p>\n<p>The 43-year-old claims his cancer was caused by excessive use of his mobile phone, as his job as an operations manager for a large firm required him to spend more than 100 hours a month making calls.<\/p>\n<p>As well as undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment in a bid to beat the cancer, he is receiving alternative medicine, has changed his diet, and regularly I didn&#8217;t think what it was doing to my brain.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Mr Phillips, head of healthcare diagnostic imaging for a large global firm, was hit by a sudden blinding headache and drove himself to A&amp;E in the middle of the night.<\/p>\n<p>He was given a brain scan on an MRI machine which he had installed himself just two weeks earlier at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff.<\/p>\n<p>The scan revealed a Grade 3 brain tumour the size of a lemon and Mr Phillips underwent a nine-hour emergency operation to remove most of it.<\/p>\n<p>But he was given the horrific news that the brain cancer could not be cured and was advised to make the most of the little time he had left.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Phillips said: &#8216;I was devastated &#8211; the first thing I asked the doctors was what had caused it.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;But I knew right from the start that it was due to my excessive use of my mobile &#8211; I was on it all the time.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I have spent a lot of time since researching this and the number of brain tumours is going up.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I am really concerned about young children using mobiles &#8211; their skulls are softer and radiation from these devices can reach their brains more easily.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Mr Phillips has now invested in a shiny gold hand receiver which he plugs into his mobile to make and receive calls, meaning he doesn&#8217;t have to hold the phone to his ear.<\/p>\n<p>He said: &#8216;I bought a gold one to draw attention to the potential dangers of mobiles.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Strangers ask me why I use a hand held receiver and I tell them they would too if they had been diagnosed with a brain tumour.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8216;I tell people that I am convinced my cancer was caused by using my mobile up to six hours a day.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8216;Even my doctors won&#8217;t argue with me when I tell them how much time I was spending on it at work.&#8217;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Mr Phillips estimates he was talking for more than 100 hours a month on his Blackberry &#8211; because of his high-pressure job.<\/p>\n<p>He said: &#8216;I was a successful rugby player, extremely fit and I never got ill &#8211; not even with a cold. But now I have this.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;The irony is that the tumour was discovered on one of the diagnostic machines that I installed at hospitals all over the country.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Mr Phillips, of Cardiff, hopes to beat the cancer with a combination of chemotherapy, radiotherapy alternative medicine, diet and &#8216;sheer bloody mindedness&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>He said: &#8216;They gave me three years to live but I will prove them wrong time and again.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;The tumour has shrunk to nothing once but it&#8217;s back now and I&#8217;m having chemo again.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;But I am convinced that it will disappear again before my current course of chemotherapy is complete.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Mr Phillips has been forced to quit his \u00a3110,000 a year job because of his illness.<\/p>\n<p>The former Caerphilly RFC second row forward now spends his time with his girlfriend and his parents Norman and Lesley, mainly watching rugby and visiting the gym four times a week.<\/p>\n<p>He has launched a campaign to highlight the dangers of mobile phones, convinced he can inform others of the risks.<\/p>\n<p>He has persuaded Welsh rugby stars Rhys Priestland and Jonathan Davies to shave their heads for the Brains Trust charity he supports.<\/p>\n<p>He said: &#8216;I will beat my tumour but in the meantime I need to get the message across that mobile phones can be dangerous.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I used mine too much, I know that &#8211; but people need to be made aware of the risks and start switching to hand-held receivers. It could save their lives.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Another study followed more than 420,000 users over a 20-year period. It found no direct link between mobile phones and brain tumours.<\/p>\n<p>And another piece of research did note a link between mobile phone use and cancer of the salivary glands, but only a small number of study participants had cancerous tumours.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile another recent study suggested a possible increased risk of glioma &#8211; a specific type of brain tumour &#8211; for those using their mobiles a lot. But researchers found no increase in brain tumour risk overall.<\/p>\n<p>In 2012 the Italy&#8217;s Supreme Court found there was a &#8216;causal link&#8217; between phone use and a businessman&#8217;s brain tumour diagnosis.<\/p>\n<p>Innocente Marcolini, 60, had used his mobile phone for up to six hours a day for 12 years.<\/p>\n<p>Oncologist and professor of environmental mutagenesis Angelo Gino Levis and neurosurgeon Dr Giuseppe Grasso gave evidence supporting Mr Marcolini&#8217;s claim.<\/p>\n<p>They argued that mobile and cordless phones emit electromagnetic radiation causing damage to cells and increasing the risk of tumours.<\/p>\n<p>But they added that many tumours don&#8217;t appear for 15 years, making short-term studies on mobile phone use redundant.<\/p>\n<p>Experts at the Mayo Clinic in the US note that after evaluating the evidence, members of the International Agency for Research on Cancer &#8211; part of the World Health Organisation &#8211; agreed there is limited evidence that mobile phone radiation triggers cancer.<\/p>\n<p>But, they warn, a series of studies cannot tell the full story, and only time will tell.<\/p>\n<p>As with smoking and tobacco, the experts say it may take many years for a direct link to emerge.<\/p>\n<p>Consultant in medical oncology at Mayo Clinic, Timothy Moynihan, notes: &#8216;At this point, it&#8217;s possible that too little time has passed to detect an increase in cancer rates directly attributable to cellphone use.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;The bottom line? Demographic and clinical characteristics, initial treatment patterns, and survival outcomes were evaluated using surveillance epidemiology statistical methods.RESULTS: The average annual age-adjusted incidence rate per 100,000 population was 7.62 (95 % confidence interval [CI], 7.55-7.68) for all meningiomas, 7.18 (95% CI, 7.12-7.25) for benign meningiomas, 0.32 (95% CI, 0.31-0.33) for borderline malignant meningiomas, and 0.12 (95% CI, 0.11-0.12) for malignant meningiomas. The annual rates increased for benign and borderline malignant tumors but decreased for malignant tumors. The rates for women exceeded those for men, especially for those with benign meningiomas. Black race was associated with significantly higher rates as was advancing age. <strong>Greater than 80% of tumors were located in cerebral meninges<\/strong>. Diagnostic confirmation through pathology occurred for approximately 50% of benign tumors, 90% of borderline malignant tumors, and 80% of malignant tumors. The link between brain cancer and cell phone use has been a particularly persistent one, and mounting research has only made this association stronger&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>As mentioned in the featured video, previous research has shown that those who begin using cell phones heavily before age 20 have <strong>four to five times more <a href=\"http:\/\/articles.mercola.com\/sites\/articles\/archive\/2008\/10\/11\/cell-phones-raise-children-s-risk-of-brain-cancer-500-percent.aspx\">brain cancer<\/a> by their late 20s<\/strong>, compared to those whose exposure is minimal.<\/p>\n<p>In 2011, the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), an arm of the World Health Organization (WHO), declared <a href=\"http:\/\/articles.mercola.com\/sites\/articles\/archive\/2012\/06\/16\/emf-safety-tips.aspx\">cell phones a Class B Carcinogen<\/a>, meaning a \u201cpossible cancer-causing agent,\u201d based on the available research.<\/p>\n<p>This places cell phones in the same category as diesel engine exhaust, some pesticides, and some heavy metals. The expert panel ruled that there was \u201csome evidence\u201d that regular cell phone use increased the risk of two types of tumors \u2013 brain tumors (gliomas) and acoustic neuromas.<\/p>\n<p>When you consider the fact that your body is bioelectric, it\u2019s easier to understand how and why biological damage from wireless phones might occur.1<\/p>\n<p>For starters, your body uses electrons to communicate, and inside every cell are mitochondria, the \u201cpower plants\u201d of the cell, and these mitochondria can be adversely impacted by electromagnetic fields, resulting in cellular dysfunction. Other mechanisms of harm have also been discovered in recent years.<\/p>\n<p><b>Wireless Phone Use Increases Risk of Malignant Brain Tumor<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The latest analysis,2, 3 published online ahead of print in October, was performed by Dr. Lennart Hardell, a professor of oncology at University of \u00d6rebro in Sweden, and statistician Michael Carlberg from the same University.<\/p>\n<p>The pair looked at data from two previous case-controlled studies on Swedish patients diagnosed with malignant brain tumors during the periods of 1997-2003 and 2007-2009.<\/p>\n<p>The patients were between the ages of 18 and 80 years old at the time of their diagnosis. Cell phone use was ascertained via questionnaires. (Use of a hands-free device counted as non-exposure.) In all, nearly 1,500 brain cancer patients were included, along with 3,530 cancer-free controls.<\/p>\n<p>Using regression analysis, adjusted for gender, age, year of diagnosis, and socioeconomic index, the odds of developing a malignant and highly lethal brain cancer called glioma rose concurrently with increased cell phone use.<\/p>\n<p>The more hours spent with a cell phone pressed to their ear, and the more years they\u2019d spent using a mobile phone, the higher the odds were.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Those who logged the most amount of hours on their cell phones were twice as likely to develop glioma compared to those who used them the least<\/li>\n<li>Those who used either a cell phone or cordless house phone for more than 25 years had triple the risk of glioma, compared to those who had used wireless telephones for less than one year<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To put this risk ratio into some perspective, just over five people out of 100,000 were diagnosed with malignant brain cancer between 1995 and 2002. If that rate triples, the odds of developing a malignant brain tumor rise to about 16 out of 100,000.<\/p>\n<p>But, there are also signs that technology is progressively getting <i>more <\/i>harmful\u2014not less so&#8230; As noted in the featured article:4<\/p>\n<p><i>\u201cThe case control studies covered periods during which phone technologies had changed considerably. It started with first generation analogue phones that had an output power of 1 W at about 900 MHz.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>The 2nd generation GSM (Global System for Mobile Communication) phones (2G) with either 900 or 1800 MHz frequency had pulsed output power averaging tens of mW.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>The 3rd generation (3G) phones UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunication System) are more amplitude modulated than pulsed, and typically use a broad frequency band (5 MHz width) from 700-3 590 MHz on a worldwide basis, and from 900-2 170 MHz in Europe with output power of the order of tens of \u03bcW.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p>The findings show that <b>3G phones may cause more harm than earlier versions, raising the risk of brain cancer four-fold<\/b>. It also appears to have shorter latency period\u2014just five to 10 years, compared to about 25 years for earlier mobile phone versions.<\/p>\n<p><b>Proposed Mechanisms of Harm<\/b><\/p>\n<p>One mechanism of harm, published in 2010,5 explains how electromagnetic fields damage your cells and DNA by inducing a cellular stress response. The research was conducted by Dr. Martin Blank,6 PhD, a former Associate Professor at Columbia University in the department of physiology and cellular biophysics, and past president of the Bioelectromagnetics Society.<\/p>\n<p>He gave an <a href=\"http:\/\/emf.mercola.com\/sites\/emf\/archive\/2011\/01\/19\/the-hard-core-science-of-how-cell-phones-and-other-emf-damages-you.aspx\">informative speech<\/a> at the November 18, 2010 Commonwealth Club of California program, &#8220;The Health Effects of Electromagnetic Fields,&#8221; co-sponsored by ElectromagneticHealth.org.<\/p>\n<p>In his lecture, Dr. Blank explained that DNA, with its \u201ccoil of coils\u201d structure, is very vulnerable to electromagnetic fields. It possesses the same structural characteristics of a fractal antenna (electronic conduction and self-symmetry), and these two properties allow for greater reactivity of DNA to electromagnetic fields than other tissues.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, no heat is required for this DNA damage to occur. Dr. Blank believes the potential harm of wireless technologies can be significant, and that there\u2019s plenty of peer-reviewed research to back up such suspicions.<\/p>\n<p>A review of 11 long-term epidemiologic studies published in the journal <i>Surgical Neurology<\/i>7 in 2009 revealed that using a cell phone for 10 years or longer approximately doubles your risk of being diagnosed with a brain tumor on the same side of the head where the cell phone is typically held. Both Dr. Hardell and Carlberg were involved in that study as well, and these findings are very similar to the findings in their latest review, discussed earlier.<\/p>\n<p>Another important study, funded by the US government, was published in <i>JAMA<\/i>8, 9 in 2011. Using a specialized brain scanner capable of detecting alterations in glucose, the researchers determined that cell phone radiation triggers your brain cells to metabolize glucose at an increased rate. Glucose metabolism equates to cell activation, so the findings indicate that radiation from your cell phone has a well-defined measureable influence on your brain. Essentially, each time you put a cell phone up to your ear, you\u2019re <i>artificially activating your brain cells<\/i>. While that much is clear, it\u2019s still unknown whether this excess glucose production is harmful, or can cause a cascade of problems down the line.<\/p>\n<p><b>Common-Sense Guidelines to Protect Your and Your Family\u2019s Health<\/b><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s important to note that researchers are in general agreement that there\u2019s a latency period of about 10 years or more before the damage shows up, which places children at greatest risk\u2014a risk that is potentially exacerbated with more modern 3G technologies, which appear to be even more harmful than earlier versions.<\/p>\n<p>From my perspective, the evidence clearly indicates that we need to invoke the precautionary principle with regards to cell phone use, as well as other wireless technologies. Until the industry starts taking this matter seriously, the responsibility to keep children safe falls on the parents. To minimize the risk to your brain, and that of your child, pay heed to the following advice:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Don\u2019t let your child use a cell phone<\/b>. Barring a life-threatening emergency, children should not use a cell phone, or a wireless device of any type. Children are far more vulnerable to cell phone radiation than adults, because of their thinner skull bones.<\/li>\n<li><b>Keep your cell phone use to a minimum. <\/b>Turn your cell phone off more often. Reserve it for emergencies or important matters. As long as your cell phone is on, it emits radiation intermittently, even when you are not actually making a call. Use a land line at home and at work.<\/li>\n<li><b>Reduce or eliminate your use of other wireless devices. <\/b>Just as with cell phones, it is important to ask yourself whether or not you really need to use them every single time. If you must use a portable home phone, use the older kind that operates at 900 MHz. They are no safer during calls, but at least some of them do not broadcast constantly even when no call is being made. Note the only way to truly be sure if there is an exposure from your cordless phone is to measure with an electrosmog meter, and it must be one that goes up to the frequency of your portable phone (so old meters won\u2019t help much). As many portable phones are 5.8 Gigahertz, we recommend you look for RF meters that go up to 8 Gigahertz.<\/li>\n<li>You can find RF meters at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.emfsafetystore.com\/\">www.EMFSafetyStore.com<\/a>. Even without an RF meter, you can be fairly certain your portable phone is problematic if the technology is labeled DECT, or digitally enhanced cordless technology. Alternatively, you can be very careful with the base station placement as that causes the bulk of the problem since it transmits signals 24\/7, even when you aren&#8217;t talking. If you can keep the base station at least three rooms away from where you spend most of your time, and especially your bedroom, they may not be as damaging to your health. Ideally it would be helpful to turn off or disconnect your base station every night before you go to bed.<\/li>\n<li><b>Limit cell phone use to areas with excellent reception. <\/b>The weaker the reception, the more power your phone must use to transmit, and the more power it uses, the more radiation it emits, and the deeper the dangerous radio waves penetrate into your body. Ideally, you should only use your phone with full bars and good reception.<\/li>\n<li><b>Avoid carrying your cell phone on your body, and do not sleep with it below your pillow or near your head.<\/b> Ideally, put it in your purse or carrying bag. Placing a <a href=\"http:\/\/articles.mercola.com\/sites\/articles\/archive\/2012\/06\/16\/emf-safety-tips.aspx\">cell phone in your bra<\/a> or in a shirt pocket over your heart is asking for trouble, as is placing it in a man&#8217;s pocket if he seeks to preserve his fertility. The most dangerous place to be, in terms of radiation exposure, is within about six inches of the emitting antenna. You do not want any part of your body within that area while the phone is on.<\/li>\n<li><b><\/b><a href=\"http:\/\/articles.mercola.com\/sites\/articles\/archive\/2009\/11\/05\/Top-Safe-Cell-Phones-That-Arent-Safe.aspx\"><b>Don&#8217;t assume one cell phone is safer than another.<\/b><\/a>There&#8217;s no such thing as a &#8220;safe&#8221; cell phone.<\/li>\n<li><b>Respect others; many are highly sensitive to EMF.<\/b> Some people who have become sensitive can feel the effects of others&#8217; cell phones in the same room, even when it is on but not being used. If you are in a meeting, on public transportation, in a courtroom or other public places, such as a doctor&#8217;s office, keep your cell phone turned off out of consideration for the \u201csecondhand radiation\u201d effects. Children are also more vulnerable, so please avoid using your cell phone near children.<\/li>\n<li><b>Use a well-shielded wired headset:<\/b> Wired headsets will certainly allow you to keep the cell phone farther away from your body. However, if a wired headset is not well-shielded &#8212; and most of them are not &#8212; the wire itself can act as an antenna attracting and transmitting radiation directly to your brain. So make sure the wire used to transmit the signal to your ear is <i>shielded<\/i>. One of the best kinds of headsets use a combination of shielded wire and air-tube. After one and a half years of battling with the disease she died. It is too late for her but I want others, especially children, to be aware of the dangers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe phone had an antenna and where she held it to her head was where the tumour appeared.\u00a0Holding a phone so close to your ear means all the radiation is going straight into the brain.\u00a0There needs to be more research \u2013 everyone has a mobile phone these days and I don\u2019t want anyone else to die as a result.\u201d Mrs. Miller says.<\/p>\n<p>Research by Dr Alan Preece at Bristol University has aided the claims of those who believe that mobile phone radiation is dangerous.\u00a0A study of volunteers showed the emissions warm up the brain and alter reaction times.\u00a0In another study, Dr Preece used squid to argue that human brains can be changed by electrical impulses.\u00a0The squid changed colour when revealed to cell phones, violently flashing through the spectrum. Because of the tumor&#8217;s location, it could not be surgically removed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>For the following year, Miss Poeta, also a gymnast, underwent dozens of rounds of\u00a0radiation\u00a0while incredibly keeping up her\u00a0cheerleading career\u00a0at the school in Botsford Road, Seymour.<\/p>\n<p>But now, after a &#8216;strong&#8217; battle with her cancer, she has passed away at home, surrounded by her mother, Dorie, father, John, and sister, Cara, according to\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/wtnh.com\/2014\/11\/03\/seymour-student-loses-fight-against-brain-tumor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">WTNH.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p>On a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/PoetaStrong\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Facebook\u00a0<\/a>page set up to track the teenager&#8217;s progress, dubbed &#8216;Poeta Strong&#8217;, a close family friend wrote: &#8216;It is with broken hearts that we share the news of Nina&#8217;s passing.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Nina was at home surrounded by her mom and dad and her sister, Cara. But after surgery, chemo and radiation, with nine MRIs, multiple hospitals and hospice, he died, seven months following diagnosis.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/rense.com\/general95\/richandashley.jpg\" width=\"271\" height=\"218\" align=\"left\" \/>I learned that <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>similar brain cancers were happening to others on campus<\/strong><\/span>.\u00a0 An English teacher, Laurel Amtower, thanked SDSU colleagues for their support before she went through chemo and radiation.\u00a0 She died, too, leaving a 12-year-old daughter.\u00a0 She didn\u2019t realize that some she thanked were probably partly responsible for her death.<\/p>\n<p>On August 7, 2009, nine months after Rich&#8217;s death, I found articles and a video about a &#8220;<strong>Brain Cancer Cluster on the San Diego State University Campus<\/strong>.&#8221;\u00a0 I read these (listed below) several times before ending up on the floor. I contacted the SDSU Administration, but was bounced around from one person to another. I then drove to San Diego and stayed the whole month of October 2009.\u00a0 I met off-campus with some professors mentioned in the articles. They told me they had asked for a toxicology study, as there is a huge cell tower right next to the building where Rich spent most of his time grading papers and doing research: <strong>Nasatir Hall<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>After I returned home, the SDSU Administration sent me an epidemiological report written by a Dr. Thomas Mack.\u00a0 In the third paragraph, Dr. Mack stated he has, &#8220;no known knowledge of any chemical or radiation concerns and therefore there are none.&#8221;\u00a0\u00a0 That\u2019s not a scientific conclusion, it\u2019s a cover-up.<\/p>\n<p>I e-mailed Dr. Mack, and he called me at home!\u00a0 I asked him about this <strong>cell tower on top of the Communications Building<\/strong>. This rises over Nasatir Hall, where most of the <strong>brain cancer victims were located<\/strong>. Dr. Mack quickly denied the connection to the <strong>cancer cluster<\/strong>.\u00a0 I then told him of everyone&#8217;s concerns. He said, &#8220;They should be concerned.&#8221;\u00a0 This made me furious. It didn&#8217;t make any sense. And the SDSU Administration would not conduct a toxicology study because of Dr. Mack\u2019s report!\u00a0 Like some professors, I have requested a study on several occasions, but have received no response.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/rense.com\/general95\/NasatirHallpictures.jpg\" width=\"339\" height=\"666\" align=\"right\" \/>I then looked into the tower on my own.\u00a0 Owned by Sprint, it has HPWREN or High Performance Wireless Research and Educational Network on it, with a BackBone Node to the UC-SD Supercomputer Center.\u00a0 It also has a GWEN, or Ground Wave Emergency Network, with emissions known to hug the ground.\u00a0 These towers are capable of sending signals hundreds of miles, including to several remote laboratories across California.\u00a0 There is an additional tower on campus on the KPBS News Station. \u00a0Similar towers are on many college campuses across the US, via the Lambda or Tera Grid, also called the &#8216;smart&#8217; grid.\u00a0 Engineers are developing \u201csmart\u201d, or \u201cAMI\u201d meters, appliances and whatever else they can dream up to deploy microwave radiation everywhere. <strong>This grid<\/strong> is the &#8220;military-industrial complex&#8221; of which President Dwight Eisenhower warned US citizens of in his 1961 Farewell Speech.\u00a0 He warned of its grave consequences.\u00a0 I know of these consequences.<\/p>\n<p>After Laurel Amtower died of brain cancer on August 29, 2010, I contacted NBC in San Diego.\u00a0 At first, Producer Paul Krueger was interested in doing another story.\u00a0 After I gave him this new information, SILENCE.<\/p>\n<p>I then contacted the San Diego Tribune.\u00a0 A reporter called me at home.\u00a0 He told me that this story would NEVER get out in San Diego.\u00a0 I asked, &#8220;Why?&#8221; He said, &#8220;Because of money.&#8221;\u00a0 I also contacted the CA Governor&#8217;s office and area Representative Marti Emerald.\u00a0 Both referred me back to SDSU.<\/p>\n<p>For a month in October 2011, I stood hours each day outside the campus cafeteria, where the kids would congregate and walk to get to their classes.\u00a0 I had about 15 signs taped up against the wall.\u00a0 One said, \u201cWill you be the next victim?\u201d\u00a0 Others said, \u201cRead your cell phone manuals. They say not to hold the phone to your head. Don\u2019t keep it in your pocket. It will do genetic damage.\u201d\u00a0 Others warned about wi-fi and more.<\/p>\n<p>They looked frightened, but they would still grab their cell phones. They would text while walking and ignore everything around them. Some would take pictures, or would peek out of the side of their eyes.\u00a0 A few talked with me.<\/p>\n<p>While there, I walked to Nasatir Hall. Kids were sitting all around. The leaves were dying on the trees. Measurements on an <strong>RF meter were beyond the range of the meter<\/strong>.\u00a0 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Some kids were high up on outdoor balconies at their dorms, near the levels of the massive discs and antennas on the towers<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>When I went directly to Room 131, where Rich and others who died of cancer had worked, I found it all closed up.\u00a0 A policeman asked me what I was doing there. I told him about my son. He asked me about the towers and told me he has two young children.<\/p>\n<p>The known SDSU brain cancer victims are listed below. He claims that long periods using a phone for work caused the acoustic neuroma tumour, which was removed in an operation in 2001, leaving him partially deaf. Whitfield is suing for loss of earnings, after he lost his job as a salesman when he refused to use mobile phones. Experts have described the rise in an often-deadly brain tumour known as Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM) as \u2018alarming\u2019. Researchers at the Physicians\u2019 Health Initiative for Radiation and Environment (PHIRE) said the figure \u2018raises the suspicion that mobile and cordless phone use may be promoting gliomas.\u2019 The conclusion is likely to be controversial, with other experts having previously suggested that large-scale studies showed no link between mobile phone use and cancer. Professor Denis Henshaw of cancer UK, which worked with PHIRE said, \u2018Our findings illustrate the need to look more carefully at, and to try and explain the mechanisms behind, these cancer trends, instead of brushing the causal factors under the carpet and focusing only on cures.\u2019 In 2016, the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) said people should take steps to limit their exposure to mobile phone radiation. The CDPH also warned that people shouldn\u2019t sleep next to their phones.
