Below is a press release I sent out in response to Global TV’s 16:9 of Oct. 17.<\/p>\n

On this program, you will see a blind test, performed by Dr. Magda Havas, an internationally renowned independent (not industry affiliated) scientist showing the effect on the heart when a WiFi modem is turned on. This was done with an adult volunteer but should a sensitive child have been used for the test, the effects\u00a0would most likely have been even more pronounced. Children are much more vulnerable to this type of radiation.\u00a0It is your responsibility to ensure the safety of children and to that end,\u00a0\u00a0only wired internet access should be implemented in schools in British Columbia. Should WiFi be in schools?<\/h2>\n

On Sunday’s Global TV 16:9<\/strong> this question was asked and answered — there is no good reason for WiFi in schools and many reasons for not having it. Parents have been demanding that their children receive the tools needed to meet the demands of the 21st century.\u00a0 And their\u00a0teachers are eager to meet these demands.\u00a0 The problem is they all\u00a0assume that WiFi is 21st Century.<\/p>\n

WiFi isn’t the 21st Century.\u00a0The 21st Century is fibre optic cable.\u00a0It’s\u00a0faster, carries more data, is safer (no electromagnetic radiation or EMR), and\u00a0is less likely to be stolen (hacked into).\u00a0 That’s fibre optic cable.\u00a0 And what\u00a0about\u00a0WiFi?\u00a0 It’s slightly more convenient, you don’t have a cable. That’s it. That’s\u00a0all it has going for it.\u00a0And for the sake of\u00a0that small convenience and a superb industry con job, too many people in positions of authority are willing to put their charges in harm’s way.<\/p>\n

What researchers like Dr. David Carpenter\u00a0and Dr. Magda Havas described on 16:9 was technology that is harmful, that was never developed to be used around the general public. Dr. Havas showed how EMR that is emitted from wireless devices like WiFi can cause\u00a0tachycardia in healthy people. Parents in Simcoe, Ontario have reported children suffering rapid heart beat, breathlessness, and nausea after exposure to WiFi in their schools. Some people are like the proverbial canary in the mine, showing health effects due to exposure to EMR long before others.<\/p>\n

This “allergy” is called electromagnetic hypersensitivity (EHS), and it is estimated that at least 3% of the population suffers from it to one degree or another, with skin rashes, headaches, and racing heart. for example. \u00a0EHS is a recognized disability by the Canadian Government, Canadian Human Rights Commission, and by the Americans with Disabilities Act,\u00a0and some European governments. Several Canadian cities, led by Colwood, BC, officially have months devoted to educating the public about this increasingly common health problem, which results directly from the electromagnetic smog which is engulfing our environment.<\/p>\n

Health Canada keeps telling schools and the public that there are no studies showing harm\u00a0from EMR.\u00a0 This is\u00a0a lie. \u00a0Studies done decades ago by the military in the U.S., Britain, and Russsia demonstrated the harm associated with this type of low level radiation and\u00a0even used it as a weapon.\u00a0 Many other countries are limiting exposure to thousands of times less than Canada allows, and WiFi is being removed from schools, libraries, and hospitals all over the world.<\/p>\n

So why is Health Canada so far out of step with the rest of the world?\u00a0 Well,\u00a0that’s what happens when a government agency becomes the servant of industry.<\/p>\n
