Swiss opposition to 5G has been ongoing.\u00a0 In 2017, Swiss doctor Bertrand Buchs launched a petition asking for a moratorium<\/a> on 5G installation and since then hundreds of doctors and scientists worldwide have signed it.\u00a0 This is not surprising since research has determined that exposure is harmful (see 1<\/a>, 2<\/a>, 3<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, Vaud Switzerland adopted a 5G moratorium<\/a>.\u00a0 Regardless, 5G was installed in Geneva<\/a> where some residents immediately started suffering from exposure.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, September 21, thousands of Swiss attended the second major 5G protest in the country. This was covered by many news sources.<\/p>\n

Online petitions have helped persuade several Swiss cantons \u2014 in Geneva, Vaud, Fribourg and Neuchatel \u2014 to postpone the construction of antennae as a precaution.<\/p>\n

The Swiss Federation of Doctors (FMH) has also argued for a cautious approach to the new technology.<\/p>\n

Opponents of the new technology are trying to gather the 100,000 signatures they need to force a referendum on imposing a moratorium on the technology until its risks can be properly assessed.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Opponents of the introduction of fifth generation cellular network technology (5G) in Switzerland gathered in Bern on Saturday to protest against \u201cforced radiation\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Several speakers at the parliament square warned of considerable risks to health, the environment, democracy and safety associated with mobile communications in general and the introduction of 5G in particular. They called for a national moratorium on 5G and the creation of radiation-free zones.<\/p>\n

The demonstration \u2013 scheduled between 4:30 and 6:30 in the afternoon \u2013 was coordinated by the organization Frequencia<\/strong> that was formed after the first significant anti-5G demonstration<\/a> this May in Bern.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are for low-radiation living spaces and for freedom of choice with regard to the means of communication,\u201d the organisation stated\u00a0in a communiqu\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Frequencia claims that only 20% of all mobile connections are made outdoors and therefore want a low-radiation solution based on the fiber-optic network for indoor use. They also want mobile masts to only serve mobile connections outdoors and radiate much weaker signals.<\/p>\n

In February, the telecom industry gave U.S. congressional testimony that they have <\/strong>NO scientific evidence<\/strong><\/a> that 5G is safe<\/strong>.\u00a0 People and their pets everywhere are feeling the effects where it\u2019s been installed and turned on (see 1<\/a>, 2<\/a>, 3<\/a>).\u00a0 Regardless, installation continues (see 1<\/a>, 2<\/a>, 3<\/a>, 4<\/a>).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Opposition to 5G is happening everywhere<\/strong>.<\/h2>\n

Warnings about the technology have been issued by a variety of credible experts and not only about biological and environmental risks (see 1<\/a>, 2<\/a>, 3). <\/a><\/p>\n
