{"id":4439,"date":"2013-10-29T23:48:13","date_gmt":"2013-10-30T06:48:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/emrabc.ca\/?p=4439"},"modified":"2013-10-30T00:01:42","modified_gmt":"2013-10-30T07:01:42","slug":"health-canada-is-manipulating-a-review-of-cell-phone-radiation-critics","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/emrabc.ca\/?p=4439","title":{"rendered":"Health Canada is manipulating a review of cell phone radiation; critics"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>A safety advocacy group says Health Canada is ignoring science that shows some Canadians are getting sick from using cell phones and other wireless technology.<br \/>\n<\/em><br \/>\nOctober 28, 2013 &#8211; 12:54 PM<br \/>\nOTTAWA &#8211; A safety advocacy group says Health Canada is ignoring science that shows some Canadians are getting sick from using cell phones and other wireless technology.<\/p>\n<p>Canadians for Safe Technology says they&#8217;ve obtained documents showing the government is controlling a so-called independent review of radiation from cellphones, cell towers and Wi-Fi.<\/p>\n<p>The Royal Society of Canada is holding public meetings in Ottawa to hear from people who say they suffer negative health effects from using wireless devices.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the symptoms reported include insomnia, heart palpitations and headaches.<\/p>\n<p>Frank Clegg, the CEO of Canadians for Safe Technology, says the Royal Society&#8217;s review panel has too many members who are beholden to the wireless industry.<\/p>\n<p>In July, panel chairman Daniel Krewski resigned over a conflict.<\/p>\n<p>Two other panel members were replaced last month when a new chair was named.<\/p>\n<p>In its most recent posting online, Health Canada says a consensus among scientists indicates that radiation from cellphone towers is too low to cause adverse health effects in humans.<\/p>\n<p>News from \u00a9 The Canadian Press, 2013<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/infotel.ca\/newsitem\/Health-Canada-is-manipulating-a-review-of-cell-phone-radiation;-critics\/IT5548\">http:\/\/infotel.ca\/newsitem\/Health-Canada-is-manipulating-a-review-of-cell-phone-radiation;-critics\/IT5548<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A safety advocacy group says Health Canada is ignoring science that shows some Canadians are getting sick from using cell phones and other wireless technology.
