ADHD – A biological condition that makes it hard for kids to concentrate, pay attention, sit still and curb impulsivity.
Anxiety and ADHD have been increasing at alarming rates in children:
- ADHD has increased 53% in the US over the last decade [http://www.wnd.com/2013/04/radical-increase-in-kids-prescribed-ritalin/] per the CDC. For ages 14 to 17, 19 % of boys and 10% of girls now have ADHD.
- October 2013: The NIMH (National Institute of Mental Health) reported 25-30% of kids between ages 13-18 will experience an anxiety disorder.
