Apparently there is a fair amount of controversy regarding the introduction of smart meters into residential homes throughout the world. In addition to their questionable economic value and privacy issues, there actually seem to be potentially significant health effects on people and now seemingly on animals. This article presents the first documentation of the health hazards of smart meters to dogs. The interesting point is that the dog has no concept that a smart meter was installed or that anything changed, so that any behavioral changes such as the one’s described cannot be written off as a negative placebo effect. This is the first dog in a clinical collection of individual cases for a study on the health effects of smart meters on our animal companions. If skeptics flippantly criticize people who claim to be electrosensitive as “it is all in their head”, seeing animals that are reacting to smart meters and are sensitive to radio frequency and electromagnetic radiation removes the placebo effect. With this particular anecdote, there appears to be a clear case of cause and effect. More anecdotes and documented case reports need to be collected to see if this is a clear pattern.
In the news article and the letter that this woman sent to her utility company, she states “One of my dogs awoke at the same time, wandering the hallways whining and crying. This dog refuses to sleep inside at night now, as the pulsed radiation also makes him sick. This dog had slept at the foot of my bed since the day I brought him home until the night the smart meter was installed. I have numerous friends and family who will testify to this, if called to do so.”
As I began to research this subject, I came across a wealth of information on the potential negative health effects of smart meters on all beings. Apparently this technology is being forced upon us despite the World Health Organizations acknowledgement that this type of electromagnetic radiation may be carcinogenic. The IARC designation is: “possibly carcinogenic to humans (Group 2B)”( www.iarc.fr/en/media-centre/pr/2011/pdfs/pr208_E.pdf).
So it appears that we are all being exposed to a new potential carcinogen bombarding us daily in our homes due to these smart meters. The farther down the rabbit hole one looks into this issue, one realizes the amount that huge financial and political interests are behind this agenda. There are other significant concerns regarding privacy and increased costs to everyday individuals in addition to the potentially significant health effects.
Some people dismiss the health effects and say that we are exposed to so much electromagnetic pollution already, what is one more “small exposure”. Apparently though, it seems that like with so many challenges to our immune system and general health, the proverbial “the straw that broke the camels back” cliche really is appropriate. Our bodies can just take so much exposure and then once the exposure is too much and we begin to react, there is no turning back. This could possibly be the tipping point for many beings.
Reviewing all the concerns regarding smart meters is beyond the scope of this post, so I am attaching numerous links below that concerned individuals have referred to me. I highly suggest you review them and educate yourself. If not for your own health, at least for your kindred spirits health! We need to become more aware of all the various environmental health issues that all beings are being exposed to at this moment. This is my humble effort to help educate all of my blog followers. Below are links on how smart meters are impacting on animal health.
Please email me of any side effects from smart meters that you have had first hand experience with, with your animal friends.

Owner writes : “I have two dogs and it seems the smart meter bothers one of the dogs more than the other. I came home from work one afternoon and I saw the utility company truck pulling away. I had received a notice two weeks prior that they were going to install a smart meter, but I really did not think too much about it.
That very first night, my dog wandered the hallways whining and crying . … I have learned that the smart meter is more active at night. My dog’s face went completely white within a two week period. Usually this happens more gradually. He was also diagnosed with arthritis after two weeks of the smart meter forced radiation and he refuses to sleep inside at night now. He just can’t stand it. Which never, ever happened before. He always slept at the foot of my bed in the years prior.
I believe the smart meter is slowly eating away at our health, slowly killing us. I found there is nowhere to run, because all over the United States they are installing these radiation machines on homes. I read on the internet of people selling their homes and moving out of state, only to find that within weeks of moving to a new home a smart meter was slapped on their home when they were at work. “
Owner writes :”My dog used to LOVE to go on long walks. He is a retired greyhound and spend the first part of his life in a cage, and so I used to be able to take him on long walks. Since the smart meter was installed (within a two-week period of time) he is only able to go on very short limited walks now due to swelling in his joints (which is a common complaint for a lot of people after smart meter installation)”

My dog lies on the floor or bed and shakes. I have been having health problems since the summer of 2010 – smart meter was installed in December, 2009 – headaches and/or migraines every day, no sleep, hair falling out, head burning, face vibrating , worst symptoms – I can hear the electricity whistling through the house 24/7. At this point, I can hear all the different noises the electricity makes everywhere but worse inside my house built in 1939 and only 660 square feet – whistling, blowing like a fan, cycling, pulsing noises, My chest continually hurts. Since dogs have better hearing than people, I’m more than worried that my dog – who has to spend 24 hours a day with this is being adversely affected. My problems are worse on weekends and holidays because I’m here for 24 hours listening to the noise. I’m now on 2 kinds of anti-depressents, anti-anxiety pills and -FINALLY – the doctor agreed to give me sleeping pills. My life has been ruined and, I’m afraid my dog’s life will be shortened by this abomination of putting a Smart Meter on the house I own due to a Provincial Government Mandate.

Our dog was a happy playful dog when we got her. Ever since the smart meter was installed she is nervous and clingy. She don’t want to play and is skidish.

My energy company just installed at smart meter on my house (without my permission) and now my Laborador Retriever will not cross the threshold where our electric comes into our house. It is almost like invisible fence to him. The only way to get him in the house is to take him around to the front door and let him in. He has also been waking up in the night and coming in our bedroom and panting really hard almost like he is under stress. I have contacted my energy company and they are supposed to get back with me. Said they had never heard of anything like this happening.

Hello and thank you for your article regarding this issue… We have a Siberian Red Husky and he gets walked twice daily. Since smart meters were installed throughout our neighborhood…. he has been falling down while walking or running, during our afternoon walks. At first I attributed it to seizures until I began to notice a trend of him falling down in the same places, so I marked every where he fell. Subsequent walks revealed that he was dropping in the same exact places that I marked….every time. I then made the correlation to the nearest cell tower and smart meters. The marks I made in the alley all are in direct line between the meters and the tower that is approximately 1/2 a mile away to the north of us. This is no coincidence… Sincerely

If you are a genuine animal lover, there is at very least one effective option which can be used to reverse this amoral invisible sick making home invasion and takeover of all your homes vital systems. No I am not selling anything & no I am not talking hearsay, since we were probably one of the first Canadian homeowners to buy this smart meter suppressor, it really does work, we went for it as soon as we heard about it, once it came into use residentially in Canada,
which was about 4 or 5 years ago. It is vital even if you go off grid, cleans up all solar emfs too.
Instead of suffering needlessly, why buy a device which can suppress, filter out, attenuate the smart meter effects inside your home?
There is a smart meter specific suppressor, named a sine tamer, it goes into your circuit box, it can share two ‘in use’ 15 amp circuits.
It also lowers sm. bills, & stops data extraction of in home activities, meaning surveillance. That’s because it flat lines the pulses & surges used for utility profit which are harming and constantly irradiating you, your children, loved ones, pets, wildlife, trees, plants, food, water.
Sine tamer is industrial strength, it has a 20 yr. warranty. We used a Cornet radiation monitor for before and after the electrician installed the sine tamer.
Our house (fully protected by being hard wired, no wireless, no portable phones, no wifi, computer is in airplane mode with no bluetooth, nothing, all hard wired) house is clean of any radiation now, free of surges & pulses – even cell phone pollution is attenuated when it tries to use house wiring, so we are no longer sleepless or suffering at all.
Why let anyone, and in this case especially any beloved pet, continue to
suffer when you do not have to?
We got ours from a Canadian ST rep guy named Terry Stotyn.
He has a website called Cratus Group, and this device is wonderful, part of a Canadian offshoot of the longstanding sine tamer used by industry in the US.
I think the info and contact for him are at cratus canada dot com.

My dog has been whining every night since our Smartmeter was installed. He has ALWAYS slept downstairs since we got him but now will not settle until he’s allowed upstairs. I was looking for something online to explain this when I stumbled on this article. It’s nice to know I’m not going mad (or at least I’m not on my own)

My dog is a basset hound, ever since they installed a smart meter on the side of our home just outside out side door our dog has been hesitate about exiting the door. In the house ever couple of days he shakes and follows me around the house, he cries if I leave him. He will run to the bathroom and sleep in there. The smart meter was installed without our okay from Fortis BC. it sits on the wall that is attached to my craft room. I have checked the EMF’s and they are extremely high on that wall. What the hell!!

My 8 yr old perfectly healthy Jack Russell was Absolutely Fine up until the day I had a Smart Electric Meter installed just outside my front door, ever since that day, my dog had been aimlessly Wandering around the hallway every evening, and trying to hide in Odd corners of the house, where she’s never even paid any attention to before. She’s now had to go on Anti Stress medication, this is Horrible for her And I wish I’d known about the risks before, I’d Never have had the Smart meter put in if I’d known.
I feel very angry and upset about this, it’s ruined our lives.
